Earth Day Celebration 2026–27 at Kenalily School for Children
At Kenalily School for Children, education goes beyond textbooks, we nurture responsible global citizens. Celebrating Earth Day (22nd April) this academic year was a meaningful step towards instilling environmental consciousness across all age groups, from our pre-primary little learners to higher secondary students.
Inspiring Awareness Through Student Projects
The Higher Secondary students showcased their understanding of environmental challenges through creative project charts. Their work focused on critical issues such as pollution control, maintaining cleanliness, and reducing plastic usage. These thoughtful presentations not only reflected their academic learning but also their commitment to building a greener future.
Learning Through Expression – Pre-Primary Act
For our little learners, teachers conducted an engaging educational act to explain the importance of protecting Mother Earth. Through simple storytelling and visuals, children understood key messages like not cutting trees and avoiding pollution. The act was thoughtfully conducted to make it easier and memorable for young minds to understand the importance of Earth Day.
No Iron Day – Small Step, Big Impact
A unique initiative taken during the celebration was the “No Iron Day” campaign, encouraging students, parents, and staff to avoid ironing clothes for a day.
Ironing a single outfit can generate up to 200 grams of carbon emissions. By participating collectively, the school community contributed towards reducing the carbon footprint, proving that small lifestyle changes can create a significant environmental impact.
Eco-Friendly Toothbrush Campaign
Promoting sustainable living, the school also organized a Bamboo Toothbrush Campaign. Students and staff exchanged their regular plastic toothbrushes for eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes, encouraging a shift towards daily sustainable habits. This simple yet impactful initiative highlighted how conscious choices can reduce plastic waste.
A Collective Effort Towards a Greener Tomorrow
The Earth Day celebration at Kenalily School for Children saw enthusiastic participation from students across all grades, teachers, and staff members. Each activity was thoughtfully designed to inspire awareness, responsibility, and action—core values we strive to instill in every child.
